A community for sharing and discussing longer, more thoughtful, perhaps more provocative and idea-heavy articles about politics, culture, and related issues.

There are already many spaces for sharing news about what is going on in the world - what is needed is also a more reflective space to take a step back and think more deeply and more critically about our political lives. This community hopes to be that space.

Articles which challenge and critique progressive and conservative values are expressly permitted as long as the article makes its case in a serious and considered way. If you disagree with their argument, feel free to explain why in the comments!

Rules:

• Debate must be conducted in a respectful and dignified manner and without resorting to the impugning of other members' character.
• Abuse, intimidation, harassment, and deliberately antagonistic behaviour is absolutely prohibited.
• If you link to a news article behind a paywall, please either provide a link to a de-paywalled version (such as Archive.org) or copy and paste the article in full in the body of your post.
• While not required, you are strongly encouraged to provide direct citations or references for claims where this would be clearly helpful for fellow users to verify.
