"Hunter": He's the real one!

(The mysterious stranger is yelling angrily at Hunter, who is pulling himself up with Waffles in its staff form. Hunter is grabbing at his chest in pain)

Stranger: We have to go!

Hunter: Argh!

            Not without Gus!

(Close-up on the stranger's midsection as he pulls out a portion of a staff from behind him. The stick is broken, but the head of the staff is clearly recognizable as identical to the one Hunter used to carry as the Golden Guard. It has no Palisman, but a red jewel embedded in a white and gold housing)

Stranger: Read the situation, kid.

(The stranger is wrapping his arm around Hunter with an intense look on his face, while his other hand holds out the broken staff. Hunter is struggling against him)

Hunter: Hey what are you-

Stranger: You better hope this thing won't just disintegrate us.

(Close-up on just the stranger's hand and the very recognizable top of the staff he is holding)

Stranger (off-panel): I haven't used it for decades.

Stranger: Um, kids? We better escape while we can.
            There are too many of them!

(The real Gus is sweating nervously, holding up his finger to control his magic, while all around him scouts are hitting or stabbing his illusions and making them disappear in puffs of smoke)

Luz: I'm sooo full!

Vee: I think I need to shapeshift to get through the portal.

(In the background, Boscha, Luz, Amity, and Vee are walking away. Gus is turned away waving at them while Luz waves back. In the foreground, Hunter is talking to Willow with an earnest expression)

Gus: Later!

Hunter: Hey, wanna go to the Night Market?
