I’ve got my mirrors set to auto fold at home due to tight parking in the garage. Wish the screen could have an option to automatically switch to camera view when they fold.

So I’m enjoying exploring my new Model Y!!!

However I noticed that driving at night on dark country roads, I invariably see a warning that my right pillar camera may be obstructed. This doesn’t happen in daytime, and granted the right pillar may not be able to see much in the dark. However I don’t see any obstructions and cleaning it doesn’t make a difference.

So is this normal or a problem I need to have Tesla look at?

So snow has come and with that cold batteries and no regen.

So I finally came around and called "support" asking why I didn't see the option "Controls > Pedals & Steering > Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited." that has been release for about a year.

  • Well, it's probably because older models doesn't support it.
  • Older models you say? It's not that old I would say, it's a Model 3, model year 2021.
  • Could I get your license plate number and check?
  • Sure, xyz123
  • Yeah, no some models aren't compatible with the feature.
  • Ok, sounds weird since it was just about a year old when the feature was release. But thanks anyway.
  • No worries, the feature could come in a update.
  • LONG PAUSE You said what?
  • It might come in a update.
  • You know you are contradicting yourself right now?
  • What?
  • If it could come in an update the car must be compatible, the cars hardware won't change. If this is the case you have purposely chosen not to develop the feature for all cars as of now.

Pretty tired of not being able to get answers to questions from "support" and Staff in general. Ok that not everybody is completely geeked out like forum members but there should seriously be a better tier available.

NEWS: Tesla FSD v12 Has Reportedly Starting Rolling Out to Employees With Update 2023.38.10 https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/1713/tesla-fsd-v12-rolls-out-to-employees-with-update-2023-38-10

Confirmed by Elon: https://nitter.net/elonmusk/status/1728092253040545847#m

Yes

https://nitter.net/elonmusk/status/1728212987146617228#m

Humans are basically a big data stream of photons in that produce a tiny data stream of motor commands out

Another recent tweet on supervised vs unsupervised FSD safety: https://nitter.net/elonmusk/status/1727484899374899687#m

Supervised FSD is vastly safer than human driving.

Unsupervised FSD is trending well. Over time, Version 12 (end-to-end neural nets) will far exceed human safety even when unsupervised.

"Trending well" sounds promising, but I'm not necessarily holding my breath. I'll believe it when I see it :)

While not recommended, we've already seen existing models being used as watercraft for brief periods of time.

Will Cybertruck be even more waterproof?

Tesla is currently fighting against the union IF Metall in Sweden, where almost 90% of all metal workers are a part of the union. Sweden has a long history of unionization, it is deeply ingrained in swedish culture.

A strike was put in effect today, with 130 mechanics for Tesla shops.

The 7:th, the large transporting union will step in with a sympathy strike and refuse to deliver new Teslas in Sweden.

I’m going through the process to buy a new vehicle, and see pluses and minuses with Tesla’s online process. Yes it’s very simple and fast but it also gives very little info about what to expect and when.

So, coming down to the exciting part ….. I just got notified to schedule delivery. However “delivery” is apparently pickup, in a town 20 miles away, just like legacy car sales. However they only give me a choice of two days, weekdays only, and only during the day. That makes it tough to get someone to drive my old car back

Schedule pickup is not giving me any other choices. Does anyone know a way to do that on a weekend or evening or a closer showroom?

Edit: worked it out. While I loved the smoother, abbreviated purchasing process, I was frustrated at never knowing what was going on or what would happen next. I really wish they provided more info on how it all worked for those of us who worry when we don’t understand the details

@tesla while driving our M3 on a cloudy but perfectly dry day the windshield wipers began to operate automatically, sporadically. I could not turn them off. Ideas ?

Just upgraded from a Model 3 to a Model S and enabled FSD and I’m noticing I can’t change the FSD profile with the right scroll wheel. Up/down and clicking work fine but left and right don’t seem to do anything. Not sure if this is intended or not but the user manual indicates the behavior should be the same. Wondering if I got a defective scroll wheel or if there’s another place in the UI I can test.

Upgraded to 2023.27.6 last night, now navigation audio is unintelligible. Radio still works fine, but navigation instructions only come out of the subwoofer. Tried rebooting twice with no effect.
