I never actually finished the last two seasons as I found them very boring. With the fishing restrictions it just felt like I was watching people slowly starve, and since they had no energy they couldn't do anything exciting. This season has been a return to form imo. I've really enjoyed watching the cast, and seeing their successes.

A recap episode!?! What a massive disappointment! I waited until Monday to watch and was psyched when I saw it was an extra long episode. The producers have a lot of nerve calling this "Episode 9"?

I've watched a few primitive shelter building videos in the past, but don't follow any regular uploaders. Would love some suggestions.

Seems like a lot of great survivalists this season. Who is your pick to win? I'm not caught up so I don't have a valid opinion at this time.

My pick is Gary.

I think he has played the game better than anyone else. He has been flexible where every other contestant has been completely rigid in their strategy.

I said from the start that the only person who could beat Gary is Gary, because you never know when he is going to take one risk too many. Luckily each risk he has taken so far has paid off.

Who is your pick to win it all?

I am a huge fan of Alone, but my overall favorite is Naked and Afraid XL. I have not yet watched this season of Alone, but I felt the last couple seasons were the weakest. Too many fishing limitations made them complete starve-fests.

Hello all,

I wanted to share my thoughts about this current season of NAAXL. I know there is a lot of strong opinions about LOS, and personally I have been a really big fan.

The Pros:

  • I don't always like gimmicky formats, but I think the competition setting has been really exciting.
  • The community conversation has been extremely active, and I find myself engaging with people of totally different outlooks.
  • Some of the challenges this season have been great, especially the dangerous river migration. Really edge-of-your-seat TV.

The Cons:

  • The food caches are not a good idea, at least with animals of that size. If they consisted of like 2-3 fish I think it would have been better.
  • The same ol' squad. Really would like them to start cycling in some fresh faces.

I'm really rooting for Gary!

What are your thoughts?
