Just in time for the weekend, I thought I'd share 3 games that I enjoyed, but might have flew under the radar for most people.

I'll start this off with Your Spider, which has only 13 reviews on Steam. It's been a while since I last played it, but I remember liking it much more than I thought I would. Maybe I'm just a sucker for adorable spiders though.

Steam shows it as not supported on Steam Deck, but it seemed to work just fine on mine.

The game focuses more on puzzles than direct combat, and some of the bosses can only harmed by doing specific things in the right order or at the right time.

Next up is Among Ashes with about 184 reviews. It's somewhat short, but ended up being quite good. The "game within a game" concept is a really nice touch. It does a good job at building tension and generally doesn’t rely on cheap jump scares.

And last, while I guess this game isn't classified as a survival-horror game, I'm including 10 Dead Doves here anyway. Because with only 116 Steam reviews so far, it doesn't feel to me like enough people know about it.

I think some of the reviews on Steam do a better job than I ever could of describing what makes this game special. But it's one of the few games I that made me want to play through a second time. Interesting story, some funny moments, emotional moments, good voice acting. I highly recommend this one.

I don't really see many people talk about this game, but I also could have just missed its heyday.

I really enjoyed playing this game. The hospital and the metro stations were my favorite things to brave. And having to sneak into a nest of monsters to recover something for someone.

Played on the PS5. I didn't care for the add-on DLC fight ring stuff, mostly because I hate timed missions. I much prefer the dangerous urban exploring at a leisurely pace.

Has anyone played the first Dying Light? How do the two stories compare?

I'd say this is more psychological horror but Steam says it's survival horror so I'm counting it. The game seems heavily influenced by Silent Hill 2 for better or worse. The game mostly has you completing environmental puzzles and walking, it's not as bad as it sounds.. So far it's alright, not particularly amazing but I can't complain too much. The game is lacking lots of graphic settings which sucks but I can live with it. I'll update if I decide it sucks.

I'm playing this one on PS5 because gamepad support on the GOG/Itch version is ass. Apparently it works fine on Steam, I don't have a copy to confirm. The game is really good, It has the familiar gameplay loop I'm used to in games like Resident Evil and Dino Crisis. I would highly recommend playing this game. This isn't quite the same level as Tormented Souls but a close second.

I'm playing through the shitty Silent Hill games. Shattered Memories is the last one on my list. I'm skipping Book of Memories because I don't have a Vita and Vita emulation is not there yet. Downpour is by far the worst SH game I have ever played. This game is not fun. Can't wait to be done with it.

Testing out the worst version of a classic in RPCS3. It works about as well as this trash possibly could.

This game is frustratingly difficult. I already had to restart my play-through once. This is probably the worst SH game I have played. Downpour is next, oh boy! I'm playing the PS3 version of the game in RPCS3 in case anyone is curious.

Here's one I have been meaning to play for a while now. It's not quite what I expected. There doesn't seem to be much horror here. Maybe the next half will have some surprises for me. All in all, a descent horror-themed FPS. The game isn't bad, just not my cup of tea.

I enjoyed SOMA so much I figured I gotta play the most well-known game from Frictional Games.

I'm going to Gamestop on the 8th to pickup my copy of the game. I don't think I've ever been this excited for a game to release. I probably won't be again until the next Resident Evil.

I'll probably post my review of the game here as soon as I'm finished with it. I'll see if I can beat it in 4 days. I doubt it but maybe.

Are y'all as hyped as I am? I know it won't be as good as the original but I expect it to still be very good. The reviews are very promising.

I highly recommend this game. It's a love letter to classic survival horror games. It feels like if Blade Runner was a Silent Hill game.
