Widening attainment gap particularly hard to read about here. Remember there's no wrong path, and I hope any who are awaiting results (students or teachers!) got some luck and love this week

Great to see batteries getting added to the mix, Thurso has a battery plant even - could they supply the tech to build these?

Late edition. Summer time where I am weather wise, the Edinburgh festivals kicking off, and only 2 weeks left for some schools. What's your plans this weekend?

One of our greatest sportsmen ever, second in the medal haul I believe to Chris Hoy, perhaps with Eric Liddle giving someone another run for his money. But he's far more than an olympian, Andy Murray has been a survivor, stubborn git, graceful winner, and dour Scotsman - all with a sense of humour and now 4 kids I learned today. May he get 1 lie-in and tomorrow, and enjoy his next stage

Ian Murray still yet to spell out his nuclear ambitions however. And the king gets to keep 25% of the profits for some reason, our royal family are surely the richest in the world already

Well done!!

With the opening ceremony today, why not share some sporting plans or how to avoid the deluge of data coming from Paris.

The numbers look bleak, but there are signs of progress. The number of learners is almost as many as fluent speakers. Would could see the central belt have more speakers and use than Na h-Eileanan an Iar in a generation, and no plan on how to deal with that is forthcoming. Kate Forbes (Ministear na Gàidhlig) here to show how parochial and insular she is, or look to the future I wonder? With next to FA cash available, it isn't easy, but some vision and leadership on this topic a test for the long touted future FM here imo

The scourge of the highlands. So many finding housing so costly up north, so difficult to enforce

Politically cruel and a deeply unpopular policy. Red tories, and the mask slipping after failing to address this open goal in the King's speech yesterday

Devolution in action. Kinda surprised NI only 3rd on that list with their EU access
