Happy new year! (self.scotland)

Ach a few minutes early, but I'll be a touch busy for the actual bells! Let us know your resolutions, plans, or hopes, or hangovers in the new year!

Bliadhna math ur!

Pretty despicable that the universal service obligation hasn't been extended to the big couriers imo. Evri should be getting heavily fined, but instead these villagers will have to muck around with each retailer, who then have to get evri to refund/return stuff

Seeing as there's some excitement about public domain day, here's some already publicly accessible data I stumbled across today!

Taken tonight on a shitty camera phone, never seen such a vivid display before!

The very saga continues! Maybe next round of ferries will be smaller like the people requested

(Article from 2023, but worthwhile share I think because the problem hasn’t magically gone away)

Yes, the time between Christmas and new year is known as "the daft days" in Scotland. So who's got something daft to share this Friday night?

Not many aspen left in Scotland. Might hunt for some today

36 miles in 15 hours, only 2107ft of elevation though. Anyway, seeing as it's now boxing day - here's some inspiration for yous to burn off that turkey

Well, it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Hence why this is late!

Yup, why a 40 minute service costs so much is baffling. So is the costs to fly EDI to LDN however, this is climate debt in action

Still not in Scottish hands. A real shame, but could be interesting to see what an Irish owner does editorially

Just a shame Douglas Ross wasn't forced to resign. Sensible change, now let's see other jobs added. Elected and well paid: no second jobs period!

Pregnant cows aren't allowed to travel this far. These calls have been persistent since 2016, good for the LibDems to keep banging that drum.

No mention from anyone under 50 in this article. Tories, gammon, and the worst of the borders on display here. Nevermind the decarbonisation this could bring, or changes being proposed to power pricing meaning they could be paying next to zero in the future, or jobs to the area - which is struggling. No no, some containers in a field is going to really destroy the place they say

Not sure what bar of major is in the bill, or what level of proof we shall need. But I expect Scottish Water to be the first investigated! (Scottish water are government owned and thus a very silly thing to do for those outwith Scotland)

Missed this a few days ago, and Sunday never has any news. So here's some community purchases! Well done to the recipients
