Easter has entered Gielinor!

Lots of clean up fixes. No real highlights this time.

The several months combat beta is going to live on March 4th.

Let's see if this will make my combat levelling more enjoyable.

No game patches this week but cool showcases on potential updates in the future.

So many requirement changes, time to groom the new backlog.

New City of Um quest is live, new gemstone, and up next: Double XP.

Today we announced an agreement with CVC Capital Partners and Haveli Investments to acquire Jagex.

They also put out this statement:

Necromancy content update including a new short quest.

Bugfix week. So many fixes.

Bonus xp embargo lifted for necromancy. Many small QoL and bug fixes.

It's a whole new kingdom!

Wrapping paper getting buffed, but mostly a MTX update.

Gamejam this week, so mostly a bunch of smaller fixes.

Looks like some pretty interesting changes proposed for OSRS.

We can now drop items by shift clicking, we've peaked in QoL!

Welcome back to another FOSS Runescape recap! Many of these servers are playable today, free forever, and more authentic than the current version by Jagex. The /c/Runescape mod team endorses every project in this list!

December remake fun fact: Darkan is based on Matrix, a questionable but famous RSPS from the 2010s. It's been rewritten many times, to the point there's virtually not a line of code from Matrix left.

Darkan.org - 2012 Remake

Status: Fully playable!

Darkan is the oldest remake on this list - It's been developed for years by a veteran RSPS owner, with authentic dungeoneering support, multiple near-maxed players (on 1x exp rate), the first OSRS player to max, and more.

• 56 new bug fixes/features
• Added Thieves guild
• Backend: Added Kotlinscript for plugin development & many stability improvements

2011scape.com - 2011 Remake

Status: Playable Beta!

2011scape is a newer WIP remake, with major pieces of content being implemented constantly. It is the only remake server with a scaling XP curve - Enjoy the noob levels longer, and get through the later ones faster.

• 61 new bug fixes/features
• A new roadmap has been published!
• Added Multicombat, KBD, Wilderness Obelisks, Slayer Shop, & Prayer

2009scape.org - 2009 Remake

Status: Fully Playable!

With developers from 2004scape and OpenRSC, as well as dozens of contributors, 2009scape has an active playerbase and tons of content.

• Singleplayer server hosting has been added to Saradomin Launcher

2004scape.org - 2004 Remake

Status: Pre-Alpha

2004scape breaks records in RS reverse engineering. It's the first RSPS with a real 2004 cache, has the most advanced RuneScript ever made, and a webclient. While other remakes on this list feel like original, 2004scape feels like a leak.

• 2004scape has created a RuneScript plugin for VS Code. It will be extremely awkward when a JMod opens a RuneScript file in VS Code and sees this suggestion!
• 2004scape has released a Feature Status page!
• Added Fishing Contest, Barcrawl, Shops
• 49 new bug fixes/features

OpenRSC - 2003 & 2001 Remake

Status: Fully Playable

OpenRSC is fully complete. It supports mobile, web, and botting, with a larger playerbase than official RSC did before shutdown!

• RSC+ has seen a new release!
• Popular botting client IdleRSC has launched version 2.0, including a redesigned UI!
• Frogdoubler, who got OpenRSC running on the Nintendo 3DS, has started working on an iPhone port

The new boss is live, shard hunt has started and a sneaky dragon-hide crafting requirement level re-balance.

New shard hunt style event coming as well, looks to be a very nice skilling and slayer buff.

The Dungeons and Sewers of Edgeville, Varrock and Pollnivneach have been graphically updated. Rune pouches can now be filled by preset.

Entra Graphical update is live, new way to sink protean materials during DXP which starts Friday (10 Nov). Starting 8 Nov bonds will a uplift in value until the end of year.
