Found a nifty little article on Janine Lindemulder. Bit of a wild ride.

Got in to Fucked Up through “David Comes to Life”. Recently picked up the comp of their early stuff (“Epics in Minutes”) for half price at a record pop-up, and holy fuck is there some good stuff on there!

Been a fan of these guys for a while but never had a chance to see them live. Luckily I get to fix that later this summer when they come around with Bad Cop/Bad Cop (another great band with an A+ band name).

Hey everyone, rural Ontario's finest punk band Tucana have just released their farm fresh single "Sun's Coming Up." We've rehearsed enough in front of cows, we think it's time people hear what we've been doing.

Pretty sweet lineup imo with a lot of great bands I'm looking forward to. Definitely looking forward to The Cure, Gorilla Biscuits, H2O, PUP, and Mr. Bungle among others. Listening to the undercard has also introduced me to some great bands I wasn't aware of. I'd say standouts include Rival Schools, Total Chaos, and Origami Angel.

Curious if anyone else is planning to go and if so what bands you're most stoked for. Even if you're not going, I'd love to hear which bands people recommend checking out.

Not much to say about this one other than I think it must be one of the greatest "fuck you" songs ever written.

Seemed strange not to have any early UK punk posted here, so here’s the earliest of the UK punk. Incidentally, just picked up Damned Damned Damned on vinyl the other day and I’d say it’s a definite must-have.

Switching it up again sonically. These guys have been a recent favorite of mine, especially on the post-hardcore side of things. Saw them last year and it was a fantastic show.

Anyone else here a fan of this work? It provides a compelling worldview as well as immediately actionable ideas for overcoming our limitations as manking. It puts the Vectoralist class (who hold onto their power by creating the illusion of the limited availability of information) against the Hacker class, who use innovation and novel thought patterns to outwit the Vectoralist class by coming up with ingenious ways to break their control over the flow of information. It really touches me, especially as someone who values truth as much I do: this work made me understand that to me, what God is, is the Truth. For me, this makes the Hacker's mission into a divine one. Probably not the common take on this work, but I am very interested to hear more takes. (to me, this is the MOST Punk ideology of all time!)

Punk political ideologies are mostly concerned with individual freedom and anti-establishment views. Common punk viewpoints include individual liberty, anti-authoritarianism, a DIY ethic, non-conformity, anti-corporatism, anti-government, direct action, and not "selling out".

I wonder if the ideology is still alive and kicking, or it's all about the conformity of a subgroup itself?

In today’s installment of my effort to build this community one song at a time: a bit of a departure sonically from previous posts.

As much as I love Propagandhi’s older records, I think the more metallic sound of their last few albums is even more interesting and enjoyable. Especially loved their most recent record. Bummed I haven’t been able to see them live yet, but hopefully the day comes soon.
