Hope this is the right r/ to post this question in. I'm switching internet companies and need to buy a router modem combo so I don't have to rent the new companies equipment. Looking for suggestions on what to pick up. Thanks!

New PC but it has frozen once or twice, annoying thing is, I have no way to close out of the frozen game and I have to turn my PC off at the power supply

I’ve already tried updating my drivers, but it says my keyboard is up to date

It might not make sense so ill explain, basically I've just bought a prebuilt and a separate gpu since its cheaper, and I'm confused on if the cables needed to power it come with the gpu or already on the power supply

I have a few games that crash quite often and all of them recommend changing the page file setting, most notable Star Citizen. My question is, do I set the page file on my C drive, or on the drive my games are on?

I got somewhat scammed on ebay for an "open box" GPU that actually wasn't. It functions and has video output, but cannot maintain videogames or stress tests longer than a few seconds, and usually exits from a memory error. It however outputs video from video output and plays browser videos under low utilization.

Is this still usable for video transcoding let alone anything? If a memory error is the issue, I imagine it's a problem when processing a whole video file, but I've no idea if my hypothesis is true or if its usable in any other way.

I don't really know ffmpeg well enough to understand how it handles memory, so any insights at all are appreciated.

I don't know much of gaming since I use consoles mostly and it's easy to check region related stuff. I assume laptops just work anywhere?

So I have just upgraded my ram from 4 8gb sticks to 4 16GB sticks( patriot Viper steel DDR4 3200MHz)

I currently use a ASRock z390 taichi ultimate motherboard.

Unfortunately when I plugged in new sticks and plugged everything back in my monitors had a black screen. I’ve checked all cables, plugs etc. I also reinserted my old RAM card to see if it was a faulty or damaged slot but everything booted up fine.

New ram cards lights up when I turn on PC just the black screen. Is my upgrade potentially not compatible?

I have a Z790 UD AX with 2x16 6000mhz DDR5 trident z and an i5-12600k.

When installing ram into either 2/4 or 1/3 the ez debug lights cycle vga - cpu - and hovers on ram. My bios is up to date and I know all my parts are compatible and work fine other than in this config. I've gone through all the troubleshooting classics.

When in 3/4 everything is fine and XMP works and is stable, but of course not in a proper dual channel config (I've been using this config the last few weeks until I can fix this.)

I've seen other people with similar problems end up RMA'ing their boards but with no follow-up as to if that worked.

Are there any known fixes for this or are we waiting for a new bios, or do I just need to RMA my board and my issue is unique? Thanks y'all!
