Tactics and Organizing

On February 6, a series of earthquakes left over 22,000 dead, thousands still missing or wounded, and have destroyed entire cities in southeast Turkey and Northern Syria. This catastrophe is exacerbated by freezing temperatures and winter storms, over a decade of US imperialist sanctions on Syria, and systematic failings and negligence on the part of the AKP government in Turkey, and the death toll will only increase under these conditions.

People’s organizations are on the ground and leading the efforts to rescue, rebuild, and provide relief for the tens of thousands of affected people who face winter without a home, on top of the loss of their family members and urgent need for medical attention. This relief work is centered in Hatay province and is providing urgent aid to Turks, Kurds, and Syrian Arabs, all left to survive on their own by the Turkish government. Donate to this solidarity fund to support led by Communist relief organizations on the ground. Let them know that they will not be left alone to confront this disaster.
