Millions displaced by U.S. post-9/11 wars

Thirty-eight million people have been displaced - becoming refugees seeking safety in another country, or becoming internally displaced people within their own country as a result of the wars the U.S. military has fought since 2001. That is more than those displaced by any war or disaster since the start of the 20th century, except for World War II. Although the United States has accepted hundreds of thousands of refugees, most have been hosted by countries in the greater Middle East.

Arrows point to the top three countries where the most refugees and asylum seekers from each war-affected country have fled as of 2019. Arrows for Syria include all displaced Syrians, 2011-2019.

In what stands as one of the most vile and grotesque spectacles of our time, two pro-genocide candidates remain united in their appalling silence on the issue that should define the 2024 election: the genocide in Gaza, carried out by Israel with the unwavering support of the Biden-Harris administration and the United States.

Abandon Harris does not mince words: what's happening in Gaza is not just an issue it is the issue of the 2024 election. Anything less is a betrayal of humanity.

Kamala Harris cannot claim to care about climate change while endorsing Israel's destruction of Gaza's water, soil, and air. For 11 months, Israel has bombed Gaza so savagely that the emissions released in the first two months after October 7 were equivalent to burning 150,000 tons of coal. Yet, she remains silent.

Harris cannot champion healthcare while supporting the obliteration of Gaza's healthcare system. Palestinians are left to die, unable to access basic medical care, while polio spreads unchecked among Gaza's most vulnerable. Meanwhile, Israel endangers UN workers risking their lives to deliver lifesaving vaccines. No mention of this on the debate stage.

This is not about choosing between the "lesser of two evils." This is about two evils. One candidate proudly backs, funds, and endorses one of the worst atrocities in modern history, while the other promises to "finish the job."

Abandon Harris calls on every person of conscience to reject this monstrous, bipartisan endorsement of genocide and ethnic cleansing. Do not give your vote to anyone complicit in these crimes. Cast your ballot for third parties who stand on the right side of history, condemning U.S.-backed Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

The Israeli invasion in 1948 for occupying Palestine and the creation of Israel led to the displacement of about 700,000 Palestinians, according to historians.

Hundreds of Palestinian villages were depopulated or destroyed during the Zionist invasion in 1948. According to Palestinian groups, Israel destroyed more than 500 Palestinian villages during and after the 1948 war.

Estimates vary, but common figures sug- gest that some 300,000 to 400,000 Palestinians were expelled or fled across Palestine's borders in 1948

Israel's "Absent Property Law" of 1950 allowed the government to seize land and homes left over from Palestinian refugees.

United Nations data shows that more than 5 million Palestinian refugees and children have been registered in the relief and work organization of this organization as a result of displacements in 1948.

According to Human Rights Watch, since 1967, Israeli authorities have demolished more than 50,000 Palestinian homes in the West Bank (including East Jerusalem).

In summary, while the exact figures are disputed, reputable human rights groups and historians estimate that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the 1940s around the time of Israel's invasion, according to critics, policies and practices aimed at reducing forced displacement or were fired the presence of Palestinians continues to this day. 🚨🇬🇧 BREAKING: UK MOVES TO ABOLISH UNELECTED SEATS IN PARLIAMENT

The UK government is trying to get rid of the 92 seats in the House of Lords that are passed down through families, rather than being elected.

This is part of a major reform to change the upper chamber of the UK's Parliament, which is currently unelected.

The ruling Labour Party promised to make this change during the last election, continuing reforms that started under a previous Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

The Constitution Minister called this a "landmark reform," saying that the idea of inheriting a seat in Parliament is outdated.

The bill to abolish the hereditary seats still has to pass both the elected House of Commons and the House of Lords itself before becoming law.

This is an effort to make the UK's political system more democratic by removing these unelected, family-based seats in Parliament.
