You find this community interesting, and want to experience old iDevices yourself? Here are a few useful links and resources.

What should I know when buying devices on specific firmwares via eBay or other services?

I have some cool apps on my device. How do I preserve them?

That’s mostly done with a Jailbreak and the tweak Clutch as well as MTerminal. I’ll probably do a complete tutorial sometime.

Jailbreaking? How do I Jailbreak?

There are multiple tools for Jailbreaking. Check which tool works for your device and version first. I recommend this site. [ https://ios.cfw.guide/get-started/ ]

What are Blobs? How do I save them?

SHSH Blobs can help you downgrade on old iOS devices. You can check if you have some saved with iFaith (works best with Windows 7) [https://github.com/iH8sn0w/iFaith/releases]. Using them works best with this Downgrading Kit [https://github.com/LukeZGD/Legacy-iOS-Kit]. You can also save them yourself with the Downgrading Kit, if you have a "rare" version on your device for example.

ONLY SAVE ONBOARD BLOBS WITH IFAITH ON WINDOWS 7 AND BELOW!

BECAUSE IT CAN BRICK YOUR DEVICE.

I’m Jailbroken. What can I do now? Here are a few examples:

I’m not Jailbroken but I still want to do some cool stuff. What can I do? Here are a few examples:

  1. Sign in with an AppleID connected to a newer device (type the password first, then without a space the 6 digit 2FA code after)
  2. Download the App on the newer device and if it’s in your purchase history, you can download the last compatible version without any issues

I hope I could help with this collection of links and information. ;)

You found your way onto Lemmy. As you can see, it’s really empty here. Fell free to post some stuff or just check out this platform. I also take mod applications, but would like to see some posts and activity first. Enjoy ;)

Back in the day you could apply custom themes using Cydia! I forget what this theme was called, but I liked the look!

I wonder whatever happened to BtBx and Goalkeep, those were cool apps that just vanished.

It’s a bit funny that we already have a few posts here. But why doesn’t this community appear on lemmy.ml? Can I change that, or is it lemmy.worlds fault? Because having this community just for Lemmy World users is a bit annoying. Would be great if someone is able to clear that up for me.
