I finished the 2005 Movie The Island.

It's about people being cloned and used for parts by their 'sponsor' (The un- cloned real person that paid for them to be created and serve as spare human parts if they need it)

I know I'm tripping. But is something like going on? Is this something modern medicine 'wants' to achieve and make possible?

Do you think people (dumb question) would actually pay for this?

I the Movie, the scientist behind it, lied to clients stating their copies were in a vegetative state. No emotions. Not conscious. Obvious lie.

Even if that were true, I still consider it unethical. And how could you even prove that to the public when their are bad actors (no pun intended)

Willing to lie for profit?

Lastly. A woman in the movie called a 'breeder' was euthanasized after giving birth to her baby (the original not cloned woman's baby)

She's asked to hold it, and they told her no. Ethuinized her, and gave her baby to the non cloned woman.

Brining me to my next question. Was this just so the non cloned women didn't have to experience pregnancy?

I mean for fucks sake there are surrogates. Why do that?
