Tomorrow, Sunday July 7th, I will be performing maintenance on the lemmy.az.social server and host servers. The lemmy.az.social instance will be unavailable during this time. I will try to complete the work between 6am and Noon.

There's https://lemmy.world/c/phoenix and https://lemmy.world/c/phoenixaz but they don't have much activity.

Perhaps a Phoenix community on here would be more appropriate? Unlikely to ever get the traction of the Phoenix sub-Reddit, but it would be good to have 'one place'.

2FA Setup (lemmy.az.social)

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that the reason the 2FA setup button wasn't working for me was because I wasn't on my phone where the authenticator app resides. I should have realized that much sooner, but those who are only nerd adjacent or less (not full-on nerds themselves) would have no chance to figure it out. Perhaps the instructions could say to do it on the same system where the authenticator app resides.

Let's Grow Our Community! (lemmy.az.social)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hello, everyone!

As some of you may know, our goal for the lemmy.az.social is to create an engaging, supportive, and fun space for discussions, sharing, and connecting with each other. We've already seen some amazing interactions here and we want to keep that momentum going. But we need your help!

We're looking to welcome more members into our community. More members mean more diverse conversations, more interesting perspectives, and more shared knowledge. If you know of anyone - a friend, family member, or colleague - who you think would enjoy and contribute to our community, please invite them to join us.

Here are some ways you can help:

  1. Spread the Word: If you participate in other online communities or social networks, and it's appropriate, share a link to our community.
  2. Personal Invitations: A direct, personal invitation can be very effective. If you know someone who you think would enjoy this community, send them a message.
  3. Share on Social Media: If you're active on social media platforms (like our sister site on Mastodon, az.social), consider sharing a post about our community and what you enjoy about it.
  4. Create and Share Content: Regularly posting interesting, relevant, and engaging content encourages new users to join and participate. The more activity there is, the more attractive the community becomes.

Remember, every new member can add to the richness of our discussions and the value of our community. But let's also ensure that any newcomers respect the culture we've built here, the norms we follow, and the respect we show each other.

What are your ideas to help our community grow and thrive?
