I'm not entirely sure how this will work here, but hey, I'll give it a shot. There's this idea that introverts are shy, and that's absolutely not the definition at all. Are there shy introverts? Absolutely. I bring that up because way back in the day, when I found myself in a social situation with music, it was I who would be the first on the dance floor...
So, I guess I'll be the first Lemmy to put myself out there. We're all here - all 40 of us - because we're done with Reddit, but that doesn't mean we're done with seeking out like-minded folks to connect with, right?
I'm an inflexible weirdo who doesn't meet social norms and rarely fit into gender stereotypes except that I'm an emotional lady who thinks everything tiny is cute. If it's tiny, it's cute, with few exceptions (ahem, bed bugs, gtfo! you don't belong in this equation).
I like football, I don't like gaming, I like baseball, I don't like anime, I love comedy, I don't like sci-fi. You get the gist.
I am a diagnosed Autist with ADHD and a slew of other 'issues', and yet, I've made it this far. My anxiety prevents me from reaching out to local people as I'd rather take the time to get to know someone online, and dating apps attract the opposite type of people. I'm in no rush to meet someone IRL, but that doesn't mean the desire isn't there to do so eventually. Perhaps you can relate?
If so, please reach out. At the very least, I've hopefully gotten the posting started so others will begin to search for their own Lemmy. :)
