A place to post about and discuss homeschooling.

Let's keep it chill, eh? Internet blood sports in the homeschooling community just doesn't seem that kosher.

Might sound sorta silly, but as a very preschool activity I like playing different music from around the world and throughout history. It's important to be exposed to more than just what's on the radio.

  • "Song of Seikilos" - Greek - (c.200 BCE - 100 CE)
  • "Guangling San" - Chinese - (618-907 AD)
  • "Hurrian Hymn No. 6" - Mesopotamian - 1400 BC
  • "Iroquois Water Drum Song" - American

The last song in particular was really interesting, he started kicking his leg to the beat.

Ended the night out with some cool upbeat swing/jazz music that is reasonably modern.

  • Hey Pachuco! - Royal Crown Revue
  • Jumpin' Jack - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
  • Rush - Seatbelts
  • Tank! - Seatbelts

Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization that provides free online learning resources to students of all ages.

I never considered it before (Overpriced useless Internet junk is a dime a dozen) until I heard an interview with someone running an independent school that used it for math curricula.
