Mostly for commuting, but it's pretty good off pavement as well. Upgrading the brake lines first. 700c wheels and tires next.

Wanted to build a thru axle gravel bike, first ride impressions are awesome, easy to throw around and silent. Juin F1 brakes with compressionless bowden housing, this is now on par with fully hydraulic systems. Still some final details to iron out, very happy with it so far.

Now I just need to go tubeless.

Wet Gravel? (self.gravel_cycling)

Does riding on wet Gravel suck, or is it me? Felt like I was trudging through quick sand.

I already have a cross bike (bought new last year) that works pretty well for gravel with a number of gravel races and lots of miles and elevation on it with no problem. A local guy is selling a gravel specific bike that I love the look of but is essentially the same geometry although a little shorter wheelbase and 650b tires.

Other than n+1, why should I buy a gravel bike? Wrong answers only. Bonus points for adressing the inevitable eye rolls from the SO about another bike in the garage.

Noob road rider. Have been riding for a couple years. Switching to gravel with a Diverge E5. Any tips?

Somewhere in the middle of a "mixed terrain" ride.... :)

Hullo! Does anyone have experience with the GRVL line of Decathlon bikes? The most concerning component they use are the hydro-mechanical brakes, TRP HY/RD. To me they almost seem the worst of both worlds, so to say. What do you think? How would they compare to the GRX 400? Thanks in advance and keep pedaling!

Can I go faster on a road bike using less energy? ......yes
Will a road bike climb better? ........probably
Could I take a road bike where I took this one today? ........wouldn't recommend it ;)

First time riding in the Marin Headlands following a route by the bikeseyeview guys here: https://www.bikeseyeview.com/main/mill-valley-headlands-loop

Highly recommend as it's a great route with a steady climb to start then nice wide downhill and finishing up with a tour of Golden Gate and Sausalito.
