The folks in 3d printing helped me out greatly with this, and I was able to mash this together today. I haven't printed or tested it yet, but it's designed to be used with the quad mag ring. I'm going to use some very thin and strong 3m adhesive tape I have to ensure it is secure to the phone, and use for a quadlock mount on the bike if it actually works.

Perhaps this niche case will be useful for someone else?

I've been having an issue with my Fold 4 recently where the cover screen will randomly stop recognizing touch input. The display still works fine, no flickering or odd artifacts, just the touch won't work.

It comes and goes. Sometimes it will work fine for weeks without issue, other times it will stop working for days on end, or even be in and out multiple times in a day. It seems to be software related and not hardware. Clearing the cache used to be a reliable fix, but at some point it stopped being a solution and now it's totally random whether it will help or not.

Restarting the phone or booting into Safe Mode has no effect. It always persists between restarts if the cache isn't cleared. To make things stranger, if I activate the rear camera selfie mode in the camera app, I am able to use the front touch screen in the camera app even when it isn't working otherwise. If I try to return to the launcher on the cover screen from the selfie camera with the phone still unfolded (so the internal display doesn't activate), touch input stops working again as soon as the camera app is closed.

I am completely stumped here. If it was an issue with an app that I installed, things should work fine in Safe Mode. If it was a hardware problem, I assume it wouldn't suddenly start working when using the cover screen for taking rear camera selfies and stop again immediately after leaving the camera. I can only guess that there's something wrong with a preinstalled app or whatever software Samsung wrote to control the multiple displays.

I'll take any suggestions at all if anyone has them...

Update for anyone else who might see this: I took the phone to BestBuy to get it repaired, but when they checked the IMEI, they told me it still had a few weeks of warranty left on it. So, after sending the phone off to Samsung for warranty repair, they just replaced it with a new one.

Left Samsung due to poor battery to Pixel, which was an upgrade but the Fold is a big step ahead again.

Will post Pixel 7 Pro in comments for context

My Fold 4 had the dreaded screen protector crackling sound a few weeks ago. Never dropped my phone and I have a Spigen Slim Armor since day one. Made sure to clean it as much as I can and bombard it with a dust blower every so often.

Brought it to the repair center just to have the protector replaced and when I unfolded it to show the interior, it had the full black damage on the crease. Thankfully, I still had a month left of the free Samsung Cares so they fixed it for free and even replaced my hinge and power button (which had the flaked paint issue).

I expect this phone to break again sometime within the year so when they pitched insurance for $60 annually with coverage for about $900 worth of repairs and replacements, I quickly took the offer. I'm going to keep on buying/renewing until I have this phone since I don't expect to upgrade unless a major breakthrough happens in foldables.

Update: just went to a Samsung store and they replaced the screen protector for me. Didn't cost anything other than an hour of my time. Inner screen is back looking brand new. Very satisfied!

My screen protector that the phone came with has starting peeling away at the top of the crease. I first noticed it around 2 weeks ago but it's been slowly peeling more and more since then. I know Samsung offer (at least in the US) 1 free replacement within the first year of purchase but it has been tricky find a store that has the replacement screen protectors in stock. Anyone else have any experience with this?

Hoping for more performance improvements as the Pixel Watch seems much smoother to me despite the weaker chip.
