I'm sure it's not massively known quite yet, so I'll mention them again:

There's a Fedi scraper on multiple instances that's been here for about 6 months now. It won't go away.

Search for "Awakari" on your instance and block/report every account with the same profile pic, as a data scraper.

I've posted about them 7 or 8 times now because they've made multiple instances to ban evade. Those instances include Awakari.com, Awakari.app, and Indy.rest

Just thought I should keep mentioning them for the new users that haven't blocked them yet, as Mastodon Gmbh seems content with allowing them to operate from their instance.

Well, since Threads users can now see replies to their posts from Fediverse users AND they're public, I think it's as good a time as any to ask this again.

Have you blocked Threads?

This is for single users. If you're an admin that has blocked it for your entire instance, it's okay to answer as well, but I would like any users of those instances to also answer yes and for those that do not agree with that decision reply below with your thoughts, please!

PS. This is not a debate. I'm not looking for reasons why Threads should be blocked. Those types of replies will be completely ignored. We all know the pros and cons by now.

The first iOS Fedi app that incorporates hashtag lists to browse multiple hashtags in the same feed along with a way to save frequently used hashtags to the composer with CamelCase support (I call it a Hashtag Drawer for lack of better terms) will be the most awesome Fedi app ever!

IceCubes remembers frequently used hashtags, but only if you use the specific hashtag button in the UI, not the keyboard, and it doesn't remember CamelCase.

Ivory remembers CamelCase, but AFAIK, only for tags that are in the Featured tags list on your profile and I don't know if there's a limit to how many featured hashtags could be saved there.

I mentioned those specifically because they both have browsable hashtag lists already.

I've made so many new follow relationships this week!

I'm so thankful for this place. Without Fedi, I'd barely get any human interaction.

I talk to 5 people IRL. 3 of them are my direct family members who I don't have much in common with, and the other 2 are the only IRL friends I've had for a long time.

So, to each and every friend I've made here, thank you.

I was there was a workaround for the Mastodon DDoS by link preview issue.

Small publications can't have their links posted here because it can take their entire site down.

The fact that I could kill a small site for a few minutes just by posting a link, really really sucks.

Did you know that Mastodon Admins have the power to hide your posts to any user that's not logged in?

They would have to enable "Hide public timeline from logged out users".

Furthermore, enabling "Authorized Fetch" makes it so that users that are logged into an instance that is blocked, cannot see or interact with your posts.

If these things are important to you, you should discuss them with your admin or consider migrating to an instance that has these features enabled.

Otherwise, every post you have set to "public" can be read by anyone via the website.

Also, Mastodon has a built in RSS feed for every profile that cannot be disabled without editing the code. This would allow anyone to follow you, even without an account, and you would have no idea about it.
