Just a little preseason bleach appetizers for you Kelce owners. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but I'd be scanning the waiver wire for a backup just in case.

Im usually in 2 cash serious leagues and 1 no cash to screw around with. How many leagues do you play in? Serious and casual.

Hey guys. Just updating everyone that I have the draft scheduled for Sunday at 7pm. We have 4 people signed up but it was as high as 6 at one point before we had a couple people drop out. If we can get it back up to 6, I can have my brother and a friend who are not on Lemmy manage a couple teams on a temporary basis or we can just disband the league and wait to see if we have more interest next season.

Let me know how you feel in the comments.

Thanks to @TheDaveAbides @TheGreyt and @MooDib for signing up so far

keeper league question (self.fantasyfootball)

I'm drafting second in my 3 player keeper league. Everything I've been seeing is saying draft Mahomes. Should I really go for a qb over say Ja'marr or Bijan. Assuming JJ goes first.

Pre-season Hot Takes (self.fantasyfootball)

We're less than a week away from the start of the season, so let's share our hot takes so we can ~~delete our comments when we're wrong~~ show off how we're smarter than the experts. I'll post mine in the comments.

I've always loved these projections. Has anyone paid the $30/yr for the long range projections? I thought this was accessible for free in the past, but I'm not sure.

Any other defense streaming sources you've had success with?

I'd love a CMC, Burrow, and best available WR combo.

So many ways to map out this first round though -- it's concensus feels way lower than normal this year.

Hey everyone. Just a reminder that we need 5 more people to sign up for the fantasy league. The draft has been scheduled for tonight at 7 Eastern. If you miss the draft you can still sign up and nab one of the auto drafted teams.

Here is the invite link.

Big yikes for Jeudy and Denver. Who's gonna catch the ball in Denver? Sutton SZN? Any love for Lil'Jordan?

Are the 7 who have shown interest so far. Go ahead and sign up using the link. If you aren't on this list fill free to sign up too. I have a max of 12 slots so openings will be first come, first serve. Please try to incorporate you username into your team name somehow so I can tell who is who. Be sure to get your draft queue set up. We are drafting August 27th 7pm Eastern so if you can't make it, you can at least have your queue set up for autodraft.

Settings are (up to) 12 teams. Half PPR, ESPN standard scoring. 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1 DST, 1 K. I look forward to having a good season everyone!

Hi all, I just subscribed and was hoping to start a conversation. What are your late round sleepers?

I'll start, Anthony Richardson is a good backup QB with some breakout potential. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/fantasy/2023/great-anthony-richardson-fantasy-football-debate

So as things stands we have 7 people interested in participating this season. I am scheduling the draft for August 27th 7pm Eastern time.

My plan is to set up a league on either ESPN or Yahoo. The roster will be 1QB, 2WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1 FLEX, 1 DST, and 1K. 4pt passing TD, .5 PPR. Default scoring for everything else.

We’ll plan on 8 teams unless we get more interest prior to the draft. If we have an odd number of teams I’ll have my brother (who isn’t on Lemmy) manage a team until someone on this sub is interested in taking over the team.

Let me know what your platform preferences are and if you have an idea for a league name. (Right now I’m leaning on [email protected] Legends, but I’m all for a more creative league name)

I’ll get the league set up on Wednesday and make another post with a league constitution and an invite by Wednesday so everyone has time to set up their team and draft queue. It will be just a regular snake draft so make sure you set up that queue in case you miss the draft. If anyone misses sign ups before the draft teams we will autodraft for the missing player. If there are multiple missing teams, players can pick their team from the autodrafted teams on a first come, first serve basis.

That’s all I got for now. Thanks for agreeing to participate everyone. Please post your preferences on platform and questions in the comments below

Anybody targeting this guy? Seems like he'll have a long leash but I don't think I'd go near him.

Zeke Elliott’s one-year deal with the Patriots includes a $3 million base salary, a $1 million signing bonus and can be worth up to $6 million with incentives.

Week 1 Preseason action kicks off tonight. I've started a game thread for the week and will be updating while I watch. I hope that you'll join in and let your friends know to join us on Lemmy for the discussion as well.

In the meantime, here is my preview for this week's slate of games. CJ Stroud and John Metchie will make their NFL debuts for the Texans tonight vs the Patriots. Stroud with the start while Metchie is technically on his sophomore season, he was inactive all last season.

For tonights night cap, two first round rookies will take the field for the vikings and Seahawks.

Friday games might give us a chance to see Jamhyr Gibbs in action for the Lions. Baker Mayfield will start for the Bucs but they are going to give Trask the start next week. We will see who emerges and if they can be effective with that strong WR core. The Commanders are expect to play their starters vs Browns.

Saturday the Colts will see how Richardson does vs the Bills and whether he will start the season as QB1. Rochson Johnson will be a player to watch as the Bears play the Titans. He has a skill set that neither starter Khalil Herbert or RB2 D'Onta Foreman have so he could be primed for a big role this season. Especially if fields and the bears O break out this year. Bryce Young will start for the Panthers vs Jets. Will it be Aaron Rodgers or Zach Wilson again on the other side?

Sunday we might get some clarity on what the chiefs WR room will look like with the departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hartman. Toney and MVS are not likely to play but the battle for WR3 will be on for Rice, Moore, and Ross.

Here is the full week's TV schedule. (All times Eastern)

Thursday, Aug. 10:

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots - 7 p.m. (NFL Network)

Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks - 10 p.m. (NFL Network)

Friday, Aug. 11:

New York Giants vs. Detroit Lions - 7 p.m.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 7 p.m.

Green Bay Packers vs. Cincinnati Bengals - 7 p.m. (NFL Network)

Atlanta Falcons vs. Miami Dolphins - 7 p.m.

Washington Commanders vs. Cleveland Browns - 7:30 p.m.

Denver Broncos vs. Arizona Cardinals - 10 p.m. (NFL Network)

Saturday, Aug. 12:

Indianapolis Colts vs. Buffalo Bills - 1 p.m.

Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears - 1 p.m. (NFL Network)

New York Jets vs. Carolina Panthers - 4 p.m. (NFL Network)

As we are approaching the season starting in less than a month, who would be interested in joining a fantasy league just for this community? Let me know in the comments if you are interested in joining and what is your preferred scoring set up (standard vs half vs full PPR)

99

Jamaal Williams and 3rd round pick Kendre Miller look to handle the backfield. Eno Benjamin, who was third in line has torn his Achilles.

Does Williams being in the backfield allow kamara to play more explosively like during the Ingram and Murray days or does the crowded back field mean he’s cooked.

I decided to start a thread for comments on tonight’s game, Sorry mods if this kind of thing isn’t allowed. I’m just pumped that football is back baby!

Rodgers (and the other starters) isn’t playing tonight so it will be Zach Wilson at the reins for the Jets.

Game is on NBC or streaming on peacock. I’ll be leave comments on the post as I watch the game. Hope that you will join me.
