TL;DR:

  • Season of the Wish Teaser video
  • Seasonal Exotic is the returning Dragon's Breath Rocket launcher
    • Charges up 5 stacks while not in use. Stacks empower the rocket when fired.
    • Rockets embed themselves in targets causing scorch and periodically dropping pools of fire. More stacks means it lasts longer
    • Ignitions refill 2 stacks to Dragon's Breath.
    • Getting 5 stacks instantly reloads the gun.
    • CATALYST: Stacks build up faster. Kills leave behind Firesprites.
  • Banshee will be able to focus foundry engrams. Similar to what we've had during certain seasons.
  • Ghost mod cost reduction.
  • Solo lost sectors will now award world drop weapons on a rotator.
  • Ritual activities will reward more engrams on completion. (There's a big table going into the details.)
  • US Veteran's day emote available in the store.
  • Last week of Iron Banner this week.
  • New Dungeon Launches Dec 1st
  • New Prime Gaming drops.

TL;DR:

  • They do not address the layoffs or mention a delay to TFS.
  • Available Crucible gametypes are changing.
  • New is Sparrow Control, sparrows will be enabled in Crucible. (okay...)
  • Lots of changes to existing modes.
  • Trials rewards granted for number of wins on a card before becoming flawed.
  • Trials will have Checkmate for a weekend soon.
  • Ritual Weapon for Season 23 is a Void Caster Frame Sword.
    • New Perk grants Orbs on sustained damage.
    • Can roll Repulsor Brace/Destabilizing Rounds
  • Trials Weapons Updates:
    • Leaving: Immortal and Astral Horizon
    • New: Strand Adaptive Trace Rifle
    • Returning: Eye of Sol as a Cassoid weapon. (drops telesto bolts on kill)
  • Vanguard Weapons:
    • Leaving: Buzzard and "fan favorite" The Swarm
    • New: Arc Wave Frame Breach GL
    • Returning: Uzume RR4 Arc Sniper
  • Iron Banner:
    • Leaving: Gunnora's Axe and Dark Decider (thank god)
    • New: Strand High Impact AR
    • Returning: Riiswalker

EDIT: Comp weapon focusing is also coming. Rose will be obtainable again.

The final imbaru puzzle revealed the 15th wish is real and I guess it’s the plot of next season.

Not a lot to say:

  • “We’re sorry” (again)
  • 650 people working on TFS and Destiny.
  • They want TFS to be the same caliber as WQ, Forsaken, and TTK.
  • PVP strike team will be checking in next week for the TWID. (Think this was in a tweet)
  • No confirmation of any delays.

Idk if there’s anything they can say right now to make the situation better.

• The layoff decisions came directly from Bungie management, not Sony. This is not about Sony replacing Bungie employees with their own people.

• Many employee benefits (though not health insurance), only last until the end of the month if you're let go. Laying people off on the 30th means a single additional day of coverage.

• Many employees had unvested shares as a result of the Sony purchase. These shares would be received based on staying the with company for a certain number of years following the sale. But those shares revert to Bungie if you leave, even if you're fired, which is what's happening now to many of those affected.

• Many Bungie employees that were fired found out in the morning when they were locked out of services, logins, email access revoked.

• Others who instead found out in meetings were told not to tell team members themselves, as teams would be told "by other means." Many employees were unable to say goodbye or exchange contacts.

• Many team managers were not told at all about who on their team was being laid off, and only found out as it happened.

Jason Schreier reporting that Bungie is laying off staff today as part of cuts across Sony. The Final Shape has reportedly been delayed to June 2024 and Marathon to 2025.

Jason is very accurate with his reporting and has sources across the industry. We’ll likely hear something official soon.

TL;DW:

  • The triumph shows all the objectives as ????
  • You need all of the new masks from this year which are on the event card's Free track.
    • Clovis Bray - Complete the FOTL intro quest. (do a haunted sector with a mask on)
    • Nimbus - Focus an Eerie Engram
    • Tormentor - Kill 100 Headless Ones (this is currently only tracking Legend Haunted Sector Kills as of 10.18)
  • Complete the Fallen Saber Strike with Clovis Bray on
  • Kill 100 enemies on Neomuna with Nimbus on
  • Finish 25 Enemies in Legend Haunted Sectors with the Tormentor on.

Highlights:

  • Festival of the Lost next week
  • Engram focusing available. Costs candy and engrams.
  • Exotic armor focusing will be available.
  • Acosmic Heavy GL is the new weapon this year.
  • Horror Story, Jurassic Green, and Mechabre all returning
  • 🚨 🚨 All Black Weapon Momento available during FOTL. 🚨 🚨
  • Sounds like making the momento drop available will be tied to triumphs. Community Challenge maybe?
  • Updates to Checkmate TTKs
  • Updates to Matchmaking (again)
  • Taking another stab at updating spawns
  • Emblem coming for playing during the Craftening (crafting bug insanity) in Season 23.
  • Changes to Sparrows to make them all the same speed as Always on Time in Season 23.

Tonight marks the 3rd night in a row I haven’t been able to clear a NORMAL Crotas end raid. Some shit I keep seeing:

  • Refusing to do mechanics or not wanting the “responsibility” of the chalice or sword. IMO you should not be raiding or doing dungeons if you’re not willing to do mechanics. This is not limited to Crota. I think RoN and DSC got too many people used to doing ad clear as a role. Which is not really a role IMO.
  • Forgetting their role mid fight. In many groups I join we’re in the middle of an encounter and I hear “what am I doing again?”. Or someone dies suddenly from chalice overflow or another debuff. Like it’s fine once or twice but it just keeps happening. Eventually someone has to now direct this person while also doing their own role.
  • Bad ad clear. We are so stupid powerful in this game and there are multiple ways to clear an entire room of bad guys in a split second. I shouldn’t have to run to the other side of the room to help you kill stuff.
  • Bad builds and bad build knowledge. Look, I get we’re not trying to min/max our efficiency here but when we’ve been stuck on Ir Yut for an hour because we can’t clear second damage phase it’s time to stop fucking around and put on Cuirass. Also, if someone says put on Cuirass you should know to put on T crash.
  • Taking your time in the first crota encounter. If you can eager edge your way through everything then cool. If you eager edge me into a pit or pendulum or if you repeatedly eager edge to your death then you need to fucking stop. You’re not going for world’s first anymore. Fucking stop.

This isn’t limited to just Crota either I was having similar shit on RoN:

  • People demanding to do ad clear in RoN and then sucking at it.
  • People not being able to stay alive on totems in Kings Fall. People not being able to stay alive in general. Like ad clear, we have so many options for survival. You can also build into it.
  • People thinking they can do a raid without a mic. If you’re on PC and can type fast okay but not acceptable on console.
  • People unable or unwilling to learn different callouts. I’ve learned maybe 4 different versions of the planet room in RoN. It got to the point where I would tell teams “you tell me how you do it and I’ll figure it out”. Half the time I would just look across at the other dude and see where he left from.

I’m probably complaining to the wrong people here but is anyone else experiencing this?
