RULES
- Be respectful. This is not a place for name-calling, personal attacks, passive aggressive comments, hateful or slanderous speech, or any other type of aggressive or discriminatory language. All discussion should be focused on the substance of the topic, not on the character of the interlocutors.
- All posts should clearly state a specific thesis. Do not make posts such as "What do you guys think about X", "I'm not convinced by Platonism", or "How can someone still be a Christian?" Do make posts like "Property dualism, as described by David Chalmers, is not necessary to explain the existence of subjective states of experience."
- Stay on topic. Do not bring up new questions while ignoring the current point of contention. If someone responds to your point, either respond to it, grant them the point, or agree to table it for now. Do not say "okay but what about..." and bring up something else.
- Debate ideas, not people. Do not talk about specific politicians or public figures unless it is directly relevant to the debate topic, e.g., "Jordan Peterson's arguments for the relevance of Biblical stories today are compelling because..." and so on. Do not make posts or comments of a type such as "Trump tweeted X today, is he an idiot?" or "Here's why Matt Walsh's arguments prove he's saying all this for attention."
