It seems like this community has been abandoned by it’s creator. We have reached out some time ago but received no feedback since.

Shoddy tile work (lemmy.world)

They had to come back on a fucking Saturday to fix this tile they installed shittily, and this is the "fixed" product.

I asked their head guy if they had a tile saw for the inside and outside cuts, and he said they can cut miters with a hand grinder as good as they can with a tile saw.

LOL

The amount in labor this company is paying 3 guys to wait around while 2 guys cut 1 45 out of a tile would have bought them a fucking tile saw.

These dudes are all 10-20 years older than me, so they obviously know waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I ever will.

I am in the process of replacing the siding on my house. I am adding a rain screen, 2 inches of continuous foam, radiant barrier, and replacing doors and windows. I am doing one side of the house at a time and expect it to take me about 4 years to complete. I am wondering if and when I should expect to see any benefits from the better sealed and insulated house. As each side of the house is done will I see a small bump in efficiency, or almost nothing until the last wall is done? I will be doing them in the order East, North, West, and South. Part of the North and South walls have already been done on a bonus room above the garage.
