Post any and all events you have for December (and going into January like New Year's, etc.)

As this is a less active community at the moment, I'd recommend setting your "sort type" under your user settings to "Active" which should list more content here. If it is "Top Day" or other things, a lot of the posts will not show.

Note- this is related but not part of CinBev Co who owns and brews all the Moerlein, Hudy, etc. brands and recently took over Taft's as well. They will be hiring a slew of workers so good news on that front (along with keeping Taft's and everything else going.)

Taft's will be closing their last location (Brewporium) to the public and will be purchased by Cincinnati Beverage Company (former owners of the Moerlein brands.) Last day of service is December 29.

"The purchase of additional land in the West End is part of our overall investment in the Samuel Adams Cincinnati Brewery that is intended to help streamline operations and create efficiencies throughout the brewing, packaging, and shipping processes," Brittany Zahoruiko, senior manager of communications at Boston Beer Co., told the Business Courier.

A core addition to the Rhinegeist lineup in the style of a DIPA?

It's quite telling (and good) for our beer scene when you hear of these and think of just how long these places have been open.

The Roebling Event Center, which is located at 140 Marian Spencer Way, is the latest edition to the Banks.

The 7,000-square-foot space is owned by the same team behind the beloved Moerlein Lager House.

October 5- starts at noon.

What I don't know but I would hope is that the tickets (yes you need tickets) get you beer tickets. The ticket itself is $25 per.

Apologies for not putting a reminder up but Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is back and running through Sunday. Here's a short "review" of how it seems now that it's down at Sawyer Point.

Space

First things first- it feels way, way more open and manageable. Time will tell with bigger crowds that will come this weekend but the initial impression is it feels much better. You can move around, plenty of seating, and they wisely oriented food trucks and booths away from each other so the lines don't run into each other like we always had on 5th, etc.

Ambiance

Also tons better. You get the great view of the river right there, the shade of the trees, and no heat coming back at you from asphalt. The Festzelt (main tent) is quite large and has nice attention to detail on the inside. There are a few biergartens spread about and the use of the Serpentine Wall for extra performance space is great. Plenty of beer booths spread about, a decent amount of food options as well. Lastly- the huge flags flying over Sawyer Point are a great touch.

Parking

From what I hear pretty good. Lots of space on Eggleston and you can of course park over in KY if you're on that side to begin with and just walk over the purple people bridge.

Transit and pedestrian

Pretty good overall though not as convenient as 5th or 2nd/3rd. Closest bus stops are probably Govt Square. The streetcar of course drops off at 2nd and that isn't a terrible walk to the west entrance. Biking is accessible with lots of places to lock up (trees or other) or taking a red bike right to the entrance of the purple people bridge (assuming there is an open slot to lock it). Pedestrian access is great as there is no fencing unlike Riverfest so you can approach from any which way.

Cons

Not many that I've seen so far. Time will tell about the ability to handle crowds but the one notable "con" (oddity rather) is that they put all the wares vendors over on the far east side of the fest space. Make sure to go visit them as there is some cool stuff that way.] Edit- also sad that Esoteric Festbier is not there this year (nor Northern Row's) because those two are probably the best in the city IMO.

Prost!

RIP. I never got the chance to go but heard good things.

More importantly, best of luck to the family through a trying time.

Going to sticky this for a bit just because I love this event.

For those who don't know, this ended in 2017 but had a good run before it. Basically some collabs were done (or in past years, one collab) and the beer was served at places all over the city. It just celebrates the wonderful beer city that Cincinnati is. Special tappings, knowlege events, etc.
