New to cigars (self.cigars)

Like the title says, I'm fairly new to cigars. Honestly I thought it was too expensive a luxury but I am finding that it can be very reasonable and not all that different from a night out drinking with friends.

I had cigars in the past but usually in a celebration like a wedding or special birthday and honestly couldn't tell you anything about those times. I really wasn't paying attention.

So now I have a small, simple humidor with 3 cigars in it. my plan is to have one a week to cap off the week so, here's to cigars.

cheers

Hello everyone! (lemmy.world)

Recently joined Lemmy.world and first sought a cigar community and found this one and had to join. Got tired of Reddit and its policies.

My name is Stef and come from the Netherlands, I started smoking cigars about 1~2 years ago and have enjoyed it ever since. Purchased a humidor and have since purchased almost 100 cigars.

My favorite cigars are:

Accomplice Classic white band Accomplice Connecticut CAO Cameroon Perdomo Lot23 Connecticut La Aurora 107 Nicaragua A Fuente Gran Reserva

I hope more people join and post in this community!

My favorite cut is:

V-cut

What are your favorite cigars and cut?

Cheers!

Finally got around to try one of the Davidoff Signature No 1 I picket up earlier this year. Can't remember if I have had any other from the signature series but really enjoying this one

Enjoying a Tabak Especial with some Woodinville Whiskey Bourbon that was left in my flask from my last fishing trip. A great combination when you're craving something with a touch of sweetness.

Drew Estate Kentucky Fire Cured, one of my favorites. The wood fire aroma brings back memories of camping as a child.

We are visiting my in-laws for the week, I usually bring a handful of cigars with me to smoke with my father-in-law and then we make at least one trip to someplace with a humidor. As we are nearing the end of our trip I needed to pick up a few more sticks, so after dinner with my wife last night and she and I walked down to a shop and I walked out with these. I think 27 will get me through the rest of the trip! These seem to get mixed reviews online, but I generally like them, and with the sale price I feel like I got a good deal. I know a lot of us who left reddit are spending all of their time on the botl forum but I'm hoping that this Lemmy community will pick up some steam.

Personally have some of these in the mail as humidor filler.

Picked up for $69.99 on cbid. At that price anything above a 4/10 will be a win for me. Has anyone tried any of these? If not, definitely encourage posting what you have coming in.

For the US, I use https://www.cigarsinternational.com/

I have only purchased myself from them once, at the recommendation of someone else, and had a decent experience. I bought a cheap $40 USD sampler pack and they shipped me a $75 pack of Gurkha Park Avenue's accidentally instead. I got a few other's that I got what I paid for in the order, but thought it troublesome if that was

Looking to see what other's would recommend.
