Hay buns! This is a place for news that's important to bunnies as reported by bunnies. We are an equal opportunity news network and we welcome submissions from all sizes and breeds of bunnies, regardless of ear status (up, down or stolen).

Special thanks to u/XNjunEar for our amazing logo!

We have a few simple rules. Please familiarize yourself with them.

  1. Be kind and avoid upsetting topics (like trancing, baths and eating rabbits). Please keep comments supportive.
  2. All submissions must be posted by a bunny, but the hooman can help you if you ar having trouble figuring out the internet.
  3. We love original content but also accept reposts. Please give credit to the original bunny though!

If you're new to Lemmy and would like to join us here at BNN2 but aren't sure how to get started, please see the stickied Bunnyville Archive post for assistance and feel free to message me if you need further assistance.

IMAGE REMINDER Please remember that image hosting is costly and Lemmy is a decentralized network with hosting costs being either paid for entirely by the instance admin or user donations. As such, image size on this instance is limited to 100kb. Please consider using an external hosting service (like imgur) for submissions.

Bunnyville (BNN2) - The Bunnyville Historical Society has announced the discovery of a previously unknown room in the oldest reaches of the basement in the Bunnyville Capitol building. An industrious bunny was digging around for fun and accidentally dug their way into the hidden room, which was full of old photos and news clippings. The ancient historical documents date as far back as Bunnyville's founding in 2022. Or maybe Bunnyville is older than that. We really don't know but these are definitely the oldest historical documents known to bunkind.

The documents are on display here on BNN2 and open to commentary from Bunnyville residents. We are also opening the exhibit up to submissions from Bunnyville residents. If you have any pieces of Bunnyville history stashed in your attic or some current events we should know about, please share. We hope you enjoy this historic exhibit. Sort by new and then go to the oldest picture first to enjoy the exhibition in chronological order, or hop around as you please.

If you aren't a BNN2 subscriber but would like to be and aren't sure how to start, we got you bun! On the top right of your window you should see three small horizontal lines. Click those. A list of options will open. Click "Sign Up" at the bottom. Enter your email, username, password, retype password, and type the capcha. Select whether or not you want to view NSFW content from this account (but don't worry, if you choose not to view NSFW content you can still see anything OnlyBuns related that gets posted on BNN2, and you can create multiple accounts with different subscription options, or sign up on multiple servers). Click "Sign Up" and check your email. If you don't have a confirmation email within 5 minutes, check your spam for an email from Lemm.ee. Once you have confirmed your account, you can subscribe to BNN2 by clicking the sidebar button then subscribing.

I don't know why you would want to view any content outside of BNN2, but if you do for some reason, click the words lemme.ee at the top of your screen or the cute little lemming next to it. That will take you to the main page for the lemm.ee server where you can see content that people on this server are subscribed to. You can subscribe too if you see a community you like show up in your feed. You can also search for communities (the Lemmy equivalent of subreddits) you might like by clicking the 3 lines at the top again and clicking on communities. Subscribed will show you only the communities you are subscribed to, local will show you communities that are hosted on the server you are signed in to (if you signed up straight from BNN2 then you are on lemm.ee), and all will show you communities from across the fediverse. You can subscribe to and interact with communities on different servers so I suggest looking under all to get a wider selection.

If you aren't digging the UI, I don't blame you. The 2 apps I have tried are Voyager (formerly wefwef so if you hear other bunnies talking about wefwef that is what they mean) and Connect. I prefer both of them over the web version and suggest trying one out. They both have infinite scrolling and some nice options that aren't available on the web. I've heard that there are also good iOS apps but I don't have an iPhone and I won't suggest or vouch for an app I haven't tried myself. If anybunny has tried any of those, please leave a comment with your favorite.

Feel free to comment or message me if you have any questions about getting signed up or getting started!

Here is some additional information to help get you started.

A Nine-Bun-Bun spokesbun asked that all bunnies please remain calm and thump if you feel that you are in danger. Hoomans are asked to provide extra treats and pets during this scary time.

However, Clover wants every hooman to know the signs of overheating so you can render aid to a hot bunny ASAP. Clover says she was shaking really hard and her ears were super hot during the incident. The hooman put an ice pack on her and turned on the AC. In a pinch, Clover says the hooman also could have sprayed her ears with a little water and then blown a fan over them.

The statement, written by Ben Fullahay and signed by his life partner Wally, was short and to the point. "Listen, we know everybun already supports nanners but we just want everybun to know we support them too, capish?"
