Probably the last album from Dutch doom-tinged black metal legends Urfaust. A very serious and heartfelt Swansong.

Atmospheric black metal is not everyone's jam, but it is mine. Flowing Downward records in Italy put out a ton of great atmo-black bands, and Dispar is one of those.

Swelling choruses, droning guitars, lanquid drumming, and tons of synth stabs to welcome in the autumn to come.

FFO: Alcest, Unreqvited, Sadness, Sorry.

Great Orthodox Black Metal from the US. One person project. Haven't heard of them before.

Full album: https://youtu.be/EA_yzfrYKkE Bandcamp: https://darkestxiii.bandcamp.com/album/crystal-black-magick

Even features a cover of an epic Ofermod song.

Nechochwen seems pretty good to me

It's that time of the year again! Anyone attending Tuska this upcoming weekend? Have you got 3-day tickets, 2 or just one? What's the lineup for you? Any new bands you're going to check out? Been an active Tuska-goer since 2007, and still going strong.

Some more straight forward BM, that's been a bit lacking here!

FFO: shoegaze, drone-adjacent.

One of my favorite records from the last few years. Highly recommend listening to the whole album. It's definitely on the fringes of BM and some might disagree with it being BM, but it's just a really good song.

Like Deathspell Omega with a hardcore streak.

For fans of rawer stuff. An excellent demo consisting of a really cold, evil, and raw form of BM.
