'Another Green-Bottle Blowfly. There are a few of these on just about every flower bud in my back yard now. They are all landing on these particular buds to die. Its very strange because there are so many. Maybe this is just something they do this time of the year?'

Is that something that was feeding on the the fly before the spider got there?

'.....This is a crop of a Female Picture Wing Fly. If you look at the abdomen you can see the cone shaped ovipositor she uses to lay her eggs in Thistles. Ive been trying for the last week or so to get a good picture of one of these. I cant seem to capture their original eye color. Ive been trying different lenses and white balances to no avail. Also the detail appears to be odd looking. Im going to try the Nikon D70 tomorrow and see what happens...'
