1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I almost didn't as it's not that full a load, but decided to do it anyway.

...I was wrong. The instance hadn't federated to my instance yet. I fell a slight sense of loss.

I've been a follower of the other (dull_men) sub and, of course have hit the dull.men forum at (yuck). I even watched James May try his hand at being uninteresting on TV. I have come to the conclusion that I am so dull that I have nothing interesting to contribute. This is my legacy and I know that this cements my place here.

...or rather the woodwork around them. It was a DIY job that I was not looking forward to. The steps are covered in carpet, so it proved particularly challenging not to make a mess. Before doing the actual painting, I had to repair several minor scuffs and scratches.

The end result is quite decent.

I have a day off from work today and I'll be spending it dismantling and then reassembling two beds.

Tonkatsu sauce (lemmy.nz)
submitted 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

If you go to an asian grocery you might be able to find a bottle of tonkatsu sauce. It's the stuff they put on pork katsu and chicken katsu at Japanese restaurants. Put it on some vegan chicken tenders from the grocery, and you've got homemade vegan chicken katsu that tastes just like the stuff they serve at restaurants. Rice optional.

Saw a community on lemmy had moved. Decided to subscribe to it in the new place too. I was subscribed to it before and liked it well enough.

Only a 10 ft x 4 ft section and it took all day and 5.5 bags of mulch. Have 2 more sections to do as well. Hope I can do that sometime in the next year.

I didn't want to waste it so i had to throat it down. It was not good. I felt sick after it but i think that's just placebo.
