I remember some years ago 3D Hubs allowed one to select people around you with a 3D printer and ask them to print what you wished.

It appears that's not available anymore on that website. Is there anything similar?

Just a quick post to say Hallo!

Exploring Lemmy and this community is quite interesting.

Here's my Cat Entry Denial System or CEDS for short. Had a Problem with the Kittens crawling inside the Kitchen every time someone dared to open the Fridge.

4h ~~modeling~~ rapid prototyping in Fusion360 then 2 hours moving a Spool of PETG through a Prusa i3 MK3S+. 4 x M2.5 screws and a METOD ventilation grill.

It isn't perfect, but it does the Job.

Model found on Youmagine. Had to remodel it in #FreeCAD to scale it up and make the face details more pronounced.

A stand for a smartphone in the stylized shape of a cat, with the cat tail curling up to retain the bottom of the phone. The part is 3D printed in light green colour.

The smartphone stand shown in FreeCAD, a computer-aided design software. The left side panel shows a tree containing the sequence of operations to build the model.

Surgical mask strap and nose clip

Surgical mask nose clip viewed from the mask's interior

The nose clip is supposed to prevent fog on eye glasses, but it seems too deep for my nose, leaving a gap. I still have to test this.

The strap that goes at the back of the head was hugely popular on Thingiverse (it was published back in March 2020). Its big shortcoming is that it tends to lower naturally on the neck, and the mask's elastics then rub against the top of my ears. I'm thinking of designing my own version with 2 widely separated bands, one that would sit at the nape of the neck, providing a stable resting place; the other higher on the neck. Also make the hooks more widely distanced to be sure to clear the ears completely.

I printed them at 0.40 mm layer height in ABS, my printer is old and slow.

Printed (not by me) on a Creality Ender 3 V2 printer. 6 in / 15 cm in diameter, at 0.20mm layer height. I believe the print took around 50 hours.

Thanks to kicou for agreeing to this post!

Hi there!

I think it'd be fun to discover each other design profiles. I'm using cults3d right now but Thingiverse, myMiniFactory and everything else are okay, too.

Sharing your social media accounts is totally cool, too, if they are 3D printing related.
