BRAINWAVZ Perforated Replacement Earpads for Sony MDR 7506, V6 & CD900ST with Memory Foam Ear Pad & Suitable for Other On Ear Headphones (Black) https://a.co/d/5z8ZVVe

These are the most recent Earpads I have on my V-6s.

No signs of of wear at all and I’ve had them about a year and a half.

I love a good story about headphones that mean something to someone. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve replaced the ear pads twice and the most recent one have been amazing. Very light on my head and more breathable that the originals and the first replacements I found. I can find out which one I have on them now and link them here if you’d like.

I also like to tinker a bit and was looking for a soldering project around the same time I kept seeing everyone with their headphones and cool detachable cables. So I bit the bullet and modded my V-6s with the detachable cable mod. Certainly something I didn’t have to do but it came out great and made these cans even more special to me.

For at least the last 20 years my main cans have been a pair of the Sony MDR-V6.

Memmy is the one I keep going back to.

I’ve tried most that are out there and they are either very early stages of development or don’t have features implemented yet that I find essential.

All of these apps are moving so fast development wise so it’s been pretty exciting to see changes and improvements on all the apps every few days.

I feel like when I was younger and phone tech was changing a lot in the early days of the iOS and Android the difference even 1 year made was sometimes huge. Nowadays it’s much more incremental. A slight processor boost here, a couple GB of Ram there. I think a large part as to why that is is two things.

One, the tech has stagnated to some degree. Innovation doesn’t exactly sell a phone to regular non tech folks, a stable “don’t have to think about it” experience is what most people are after.

Two, a lot more issues with the cell phone platform are solved with software rather than throwing around more powerful hardware.

All that being said when I was younger I loved the idea of bleeding edge tech in my pocket, I upgraded all the time. The appeal was more customization at a lesser cost to performance, I wanted all the bells and whistles and less of the jank that came with it. I’m a little older now and lean much more towards the “give me something that works and doesn’t crash for the 10 minutes I have to look at my phone” club.

For those that upgrade to the latest iPhone/Pixel every year no matter what, I chalk that up to lots of expendable funds. It doesn’t appeal to me any more but I can also recognize that there are probably plenty of people out there now, like I was 10 years ago, so it could also be a general interest in the tech and how the bleeding edge keeps pushing for faster, more efficient technology.

I used to work in a bar, on hot summer days I’d just go in our walk in fridge and act like I was restocking stuff. Best feeling ever

Sorry I'm fairly new to all this, does defederating mean you break connections to the larger fediverse?

Like I make a server that has 5 people on it and then defederate the server, those 5 people now can't communicate with the fediverse at large?

Been right by my wife’s side for both of my kid’s births, I also don’t remember any smells at all. I’m wondering though if that’s because of all the adrenaline in the moment your brain doesn’t think to consider

I think I understand your comment, so my question is why are so many people up in arms about Threads taking over or destroying the Fediverse?
