I trust Artedu to get it right. I'm not big on Havertz either but you have to remember he's been at Chelsea for a while now. And Chelsea fucks players up.

I don’t think he’s what we need, Jesus is a similar profile striker and ESR is a similar profile 8. We should use the funds on Caicedo and maybe a striker of a different profile

I feel like he'd be overpriced for what he'd contribute to the club. Hard pass imo

My instant reaction was the HARDEST no, but then you look at what Chelsea have done to almost every one of those players brought in over the last 3 years or so and it makes you wonder what sort of player is potentially in there 🤔

Really can't envisage what he'll add to the squad.

think I'm in the minority here, but I rate Havertz. he's technically gifted, quick, and has some height which we lack up top.

of course there are questions about his attitude, but it would be hard not to be affected playing in that mess of a Chelsea squad.

it depends on the price we can get him for, but if Edu/Arteta want him then let's get it done.

I'd take Havertz for £40m in a heartbeat but have a feeling he has his heart set on Madrid.

[–] kuijun 3 points 1 year ago

so would I. from Madrid's perspective, I'd imagine he would be third choice behind Mbappe and Kane though, right?

I agree he's quality, but coming from Chelsea and to a rival that's pushing for a title, his price will definitely be inflated. If it hinders our ability bolster other areas of our squad, I don't think it's a good buy. But like you said, if it's a good price and Eduteta rate him...

Edit: but to buy

[–] kuijun 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

yeah, agree the inflated price is the big catch. i think the angle we're shooting for is that Chelsea have to sell, and there aren't a lot of clubs whose offers we couldn't match. no one in Germany/France/Spain is paying 50m for him, so that leaves United (maybe?), City (no way), Newcastle (maybe?), Spurs (lol), and Liverpool (no way) as realistic competitors for the purchase.

I'm hoping we're just doing this to fuck with Boehly's head

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Rather not.

[–] Casino 2 points 1 year ago

no just no what does he add?

[–] Naryn 2 points 1 year ago

The price HAS to be right on this one.

If we can get him at £30-40m then I'm fairly happy with it but they want 60m last I checked and he's just not shown anything near that. Presumably with a wage cut too, can't be paying Havertz and Saka similar wages

[–] Jumbeauxlaya 1 points 1 year ago

Sure, for 15m i'll take him. Hardest pass in the world if they want anything above 25 though.
