I used to constantly switch phones, splurging on high end handsets and then having to sell because i needed the money.

Currently have an iphone 12 pro since launch, and will almost be 3 years soon, battery health still at 88%

@Elcapitan786 around five years. Once I find myself charging multiple times to get through a day is when I throw in the towel.

I hope to keep mine just as long, although I’m already itching to get a max version lol

@Elcapitan786 I held off on the Max for so long. I’m so glad I made the jump though. The extra screen real estate really makes a difference.

Still rockin my XR from a little after launch. I think this one is probably my longest.

Nice, almost 5 years! How’s battery life?

Health shows 85%. It’s definitely starting to show it’s age. I can’t make it through a full day on the battery, it will randomly lockup on me here and there, and the camera doesn’t seem so great anymore.

That said it’s been a great phone. I’m trying to decide if I should go ahead and get something new now or wait for the 15.

My everyday phone's an XR. I don't even consider it old.

I might buy a new iPhone though, maybe a 14, because my backup iPhone 6 is slowly exploding - i think the humidity is getting to it; the screen is slowly popping upwards, exposing the innards along the sides. But it still works fine (i use it for a bedside alarm clock), except it now and then randomly plays a reminders jingle for some reason.

edit: battery health = 87%

Current phone is iphone xs since 2019, I’m on jailbroken ios 14.8 and i have no desire to upgrade my phone

iPhone XS Max as my daily driver for the last 4.5 years. Zero urge to change, it's still plenty powerful enough for my needs. I might upgrade when it doesn't get updates anymore.

The battery shows its age now tho. It's at 79% capacity and tends to overheat in the summer while driving using Waze and charging at the same time. It gets quite hot even with moderate use and sometimes needs topping up just to finish the day. I've mitigated it for now by replacing the case by a skin but it's gonna need replacement soon.

My contract ends in November, i have a 3 months old 14 Pro 128gb. Ill sell it for around 750-800 euros, pay that upfront for an iphone 15 pro and extend my TMobile contract.

However, i dont know yet if i choose 128gb and extend for 1 year so i can do the same for the 16 Pro, and pay 60 euro per month for unlimited everything,or if i take 512gb 15 pro, extend it for 2 years and pay about 50 euro per month.

Gona check the reviews, if the 15 Pro had less weight(titanium), has monster battery and a noticeable upgrade in camera quality ill take option 2.

If it is a slightly upgraded 14 Pro, ill take option 1.

Option 3 would be keep the 14 Pro, pay per month 27 euro for unlimited everything and see what the 16 Pro brings so i could upgrade then.

There is hardly any difference these days - I would prefer to hold on to the existing phone. However if you are able to sell the 14 for a good price, this is probably the cheapest total cost of ownership.

Yeah, if i would wait another year with my 14 pro it’ll get me less money, BUT the tmobile service would be cheap at 25 euro/per month. My phone is my only luxury (im know i know) and if the 15 Pro gets lighter, much better battery and a truly upgraded camera I’ll bite lol

Just got rid of my iPhone 7 Plus for an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I loved the 7, it survived going through over 30 countries and 6 broken screen protectors and it still looks new

IPhone 11 Pro, my current one for the last four years. Got a new battery last month. Should be good for another two years maybe.

I was thinking about getting a new one. But I really do not like the camera bump on the current models. So went for a new battery instead.

I use the Apple program to get a new one every year. It’s my camera (love photography) and the computer I have with me all the time (I’m an it guy).

With the Apple program, you get to pay for it over 2 years with no interest. But after 12 payments, you can trade it in on a new one. And the 2 years starts over.
