Removing or even refactoring old code can be very therapeutic.

Humans just like feeling like they're better than another human, deleting someone else's code is loudly saying that you're better than them in some metric. Nothing wrong with it, but that's why writing code feels less powerful than yeeting other people's shit.

Not so true if you still don't know what you are doing, I felt power when I would rewrite a program completely after I learned how to code better and looking at how horrible of a job I did before... nvm, this post is totally correct!

When can I submit a change request to remove all the old soft code in production? I swear someone built this ship programming equivalent to rubber bands and thin strips of duct tape.

They say don't disturb the beast.. but it's literally my job to do so. Help.
