Not sure what to think of this news. 100 matches a year for both leagues is something like 15% of possible matches (if my math is right). Will the rest of the matches be broadcast elsewhere?

Yes, it seems like theyre working out a different deal with another broadcaster for the remaining games. According to Backheeled, 90% of ALL USL games will be free to watch. If true, I think this is a great deal. If CBS is able to give more coverage to USL via segments in shows and better overage of games it can really grow the leagues.

Good to hear. I'm generally not a fan of CBS sports coverage, and Paramount+ is terrible (had it free for a few months and dropped it like a bad habit when the trial was finished) , but you're right that more exposure can only be good for the league. Guess I'll be swapping out the ESPN subscription in spring!

Yeah im also not a fan of paramount+ but more coverage is more coverage. ESPN did great broadcasting every game, but I feel like they put no effort into media coverage, advertising, and broadcasting quality. If CBS does stuff like that I think this can be a nice step up for USL

This is the second time I have seen people excited about this announcement. ESPN+ is a much better platform. Gonzaga or whatever is a completely trash soccer channel on Pluto.TV. For example they show NISA. Broadcast is not as valuable as it once was, and many teams already had local broadcast agreements, which is more valuable than anything this could gain them.

Where I live channel 20 comes in great, but often channel 62 doesn't at all.
