Along with the electric Land Cruiser concept, Toyota also previewed a Ford Maverick-sized electric pickup.

another pigfat "midsize" pickup that's bigger than most HD trucks from 30 years ago

No, we haven't been waiting for this. Not to mention the fact that this looks worse than that hideous Hyundai crosstruck

By the time it goes from concept to release, I’m guessing that it will be ~2028. Hopefully Ford will give the Maverick an EV drivetrain by then.

I wish they would take the '90s Tacoma and electrify it, that's the size and usability that would really make me consider getting something fully electric.

This is neat, but not what I'd be looking for in an electric truck.

I'll believe it when I see it. Also, they'll need to nail the things that made the maverick a huge hit. The bed will need to be usable and well made/sized you can actually haul full plywood sheets with a maverick which is rare in a small truck, and even more important, the price point.
