StupIDPol: A based critique of essentialism

A federated homage to the subreddit of the same name. The original idea is a marxist take on identity politics and the stupidity inherent in it, but we're fresh out of marxists to run this joint.

Until any marxists step forward to take over, this is a place to post well-tempered stories and commentary about the bonkers world of identity politics.

We got rules, so learn 'em:

“It is not just explicit pro-Hamas symbols and chants that are cause for concern. I would encourage police to consider whether chants such as: ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ should be understood as an expression of a violent desire to see Israel erased from the world,

I don't approve of what Palestine is doing, but saying "I want to be free" is in no way similar to saying "I want to erase somebody else from the world".

Glad we have free speech here in America, so people can say stuff like that, and other people can think they're jerks, but at the end of the day neither of them end up in jail over it.

Harassing Jews with Palestinian flags and screaming out "From the Ocean to the river." From South West to North East all of it is Palestine surely that would be nothing for the police to deal with and the Jewish community should just understand that and move on with their lives... I mean even shoving a swastika in their face is fine...

Yeah the way the article is putting all this I'd be worried if the government member wasn't worried about this sort of thing. I'm a little worried that this had to be brought up though.
