1: I object to your theory that small amounts of protein leads to gains.

2: Maybe don't post frenworld shit.

Can we not post cutesified fash propaganda?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Maybe I'm missing something, but what part of this is fascist propaganda? It looks like a 4chan meme, but of there's any fascist dogwhistles in there they're going right over my head

The meme is a parody of ahistorical fascist drivel.

It generally goes hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times.

Ah I see. Weird how they manage to put a fascist message in an otherwise funny meme about chicken nuggies. It really is a dogwhistle then. Unless you know the material it references, it's just a funny meme.

Frenworld was one of the bigger cutsey fascist communities on reddit, coming from 4chan. Any time you see "fren" Memes it's a pretty glaring red flag

Maybe Poe's law, but seems more like satire to me, poking fun at the theorey. The joke only really works if you know it, doesn't seem like it was hiding to me. I don't know.

First: Fuck fascists.

This is a honest question, really: are you not validating cultural appropriation?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sorry, can you unpack that?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ohhhh sorry, I was half asleep when I made that comment and missed the dogwhistle, this is in fact fash propaganda. I originally thought your problem with this was the use of pepe. Sorry for the confusion 🥴

No worries.

I do actually have kind of a complicated ball of thoughts around cultural appropriation, in that using other people's cultural practices as mockery is a shitty thing to do, but I also tend to think of humanity as a unit, and that we're best off sharing our discoveries and innovations rather than siloing them in the way that that term is sometimes used to support - it's bad to tell people that they can't cook x, or do y, if they are doing it in net positive ways.

Pepe... I don't even know how to feel about. Original comic was cool? But then red teamers acted like dicks with it? But now people are trying to reclaim it? Idk.
