I feel as though the overlap of people who can afford $1,500 for a Disney collection and the people who use Blu Rays in 2023 has to be pretty tiny.

I'm in the latter camp, I use Blu Rays. But I can't see myself spending $1,500 on a box set. Maybe $300, but even then probably not.

I'll enjoy finding these at Goodwill in a decade.

I'll always prefer physical media over streaming.

May Blu-ray is still much higher quality. Folks with very nice home theater setups have huge BR collections. I'm sure she is them love Disney and have kids they want to watch them with.

Frozen 2 is $5 on amazon.

That means 90 movies are old enough to pay less than that. Even if these 91 were $5, that's only $450. NINE movies are supposed to comprise $1000 in value.

I'm sure some of this pitch is that most of the older movies probably don't have a blu-ray but $1500 is egregious. Most of these are worth a dollar....at best. Every Special Feature, menu game, deleted scene, and "making of" for like...all of these... has been released in various ways over the DVD and BluRay era. There's nothing "new" Disney is gonna show me for Dumbo and Cinderella to hold an average of $15 price tag over them.

And? It's a collector's item.

Pick a hobby and I'll find you stupid shit.

I mean owning a salt water fish tank is about one of the dumbest expenses you can have in itself.
