Yes but now does anyone else have this other bug where after posting a comment, you get taken to the top of the post and have to scroll all the way back down again?

Yep. Luckily the app is being updated incredibly quickly, so it won't be long before that's fixed.

To be honest, I was surprised as well. I said I won't be shifting to Lemmy unless there's a decent app, shifting through tabs on a browser is just so slow on a phone. Luckily, someone said there was, pointed me to the app... said it was in alpha, but I thought, meeeeh, the heck with it, I ain't doing tax returns with this thing anyway, what's the worst that could happen. While a lot of things did not work, it is surprisingly stable for an alpha release. A lot of bugs, but nothing that would just crash the app constantly. Sure, few crashes here and there, but nothing too serious.

I tried updating from the GitHub .35 release which worked for me

Yeah, seems a lit more stable than .34.
