I have the r7 with that lens and love it. Use it pretty much the same way. I rented the Tamron 150-600 once and the weight was ridiculous and the quality wasn't any better.
birding
A community for people who like birds, birdwatching and birding in general!
Feel free to share your photos and other birding-related content here. If a photo you post isn't yours, please credit the original creator! Additionally, it would be appreciated if the location of the sighting and a date were given when a photo or question is posted. You do not have to give the precise location, something like "Northern Idaho, June 2023" or even "North-Western US, June 2023" suffices.
Looks great, how high MP do you get on your camera? Mine isn't great so I'm afraid of going for less focal length
The camera has 24.5 megapixels. Even if I crop 50%, I still have nearly 13 megapixels left, I find that totally manageable as long as the photo's actually sharp. I won't be able to print gigantic posters or anything, but I don't want to do that anyway. It's mostly for social media and maybe some smaller prints here and there.
Gave up on the Sigma 150-600 I have. Dropped to either a 300 with a teleconverter or a 500. The prime lenses are so much sharper. I'm in the Nikon side of things....
