Had to work today (Saturday), so got up early and did 2hr VO2max session (8x4) before work. My work commute now isn't hard, just 2 miles and 150' elevation gain, but it was hard today!

What part of the world are you in? I'd love to bike more but it's just not safe to ride where I am (Philadelphia suburbs)

Satellite city of Boston Everyone has their own levels of comfort with cycling in traffic. I started over 30 years ago when the idea of cycling specific infrastructure wasn't even really a thing, so I'm pretty comfortable in all kinds of situations. That said, I do feel a difference the last few years. More aggression? More distracted drivers? IDK

I just go for hard rides from my house and end at my workplace. Today I did a big trail loop just outside of town, then headed into town from the end of the trail and ended at work, and there you go.

don't have changing facilities/showers etc at current work. Used to have it, but always did training rides on way home

Fair. I work from afternoon into night, so after is a much dicier proposition for me. As long as I get in with some time to spare, I can dry off and deodorize before I do anything, but if I got off work with daylight to spare then afterwards would make a lot more sense.
