Almost anything by Jasper Fforde. He writes amazingly smart and funny modern fantasy, with great characters and settings.

Sergey Snegov - Humans as Gods I read it as a teenager. Full of interesting ideas I haven’t seen anywhere else. Definitely worth a read, however it’s difficult to come by.
An Dutch book named “Ijskoude Handen”.
I have never heard anyone chat about, here on Lemmy nor on Reddit.
The book series Garett, P.I. by Glenn Cook, but hoping I'm wrong
Beyond the sky and the earth by Jamie Zeppa. The only people I know who have read it have done it at my recommendation.
I feel like Aliens: Phalanx is a surprise gem of a book that not many people have read. Usually books based on a franchise aren't very good or original, but this is actually a really great story with impressive world building that I think most science fiction / fantasy fans would enjoy.
Bleeding Sun by Samuel Sagan. Interesting psychic space warfare with Matrix elements and VR/AR stuff.
New Ideas on Dead Economists. Has a pretty good section on Marx for the "communists". Overall just a good read in the philosophical advancement of economic theory over time. Good approachable econ book.
