Wow, these look great!
This set is beautiful! As many dice as I've made, I've never done well with petri.
I keep fiddling with the timing and such, but I never had luck with BlancoBlanco as a sinker. My few successes were via minking.
These are really great. How long did it take you before you were able to consistently make dice that look this good? Do you use a pressure pot? I'd love to hear more about your process.
It didn't take too long - the trick was to work out that you need to use a particular type of ink that is heavier than normal alcohol ink and will cause it to sink. Yeah, we use a pressure pot.
Our process for this type of set is:
- Mix up your base colour and fill the moulds to about 3/4 full.
- Alternate drips of normal ink and mixative ink on top of the resin. About 2 of each.
- Fill the moulds with base resin, carefully, trying not to disturb the dripped ink.
Sometimes you end up with heavy drips of ink that settle on the bottom and make large patches. For this reason, we learned quickly that these dice work better as double-cast dice (cast first as blanks, then in full moulds). This puts the splotches "under" the numbers and looks more purposeful.

Super cool. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing more, hopefully you'll find some inspiration to make some more.
