Keep it related to Monster Hunter. Plain and simple. If it's questionable, be ready to back it up.

πŸ“– Respect Your Fellow Hunters
Greenhorns or oldhats, we all start somewhere in the series. Everyone is welcome.

No racism, bigotry, flaming, trolling, or any other behavior unbecoming of a guild hunter. We're here to play and discuss Monster Hunter with like-minded folks, act like it.

No "game shaming": This isn't a place for title vs title arguments. Take that to steam forums or elsewhere. Compare/contrast mechanics between games, discuss what worked or didn't and how. Devolving into flame wars of "MHX sucks, gib more MHY" will not be tolerated.

No "off-meta" shaming: having fun playing the game is the meta. Discuss strats, builds, and give suggestions, but that's all they are, suggestions.

πŸ“– Original Art Only
No AI art: too easy to spam, too low effort.

Attribute original artists with links, watermarks, and mentions where available. If you don't know the source, say so.

If an internet sleuth finds a poster cribbing others' art as their own, that's a bannable offense.

Today I fought Nergigante for the first time...and then three more times... In the first try I already got it to being close to death (with the skull showing on the map), and fainted two more times in the last area which failed the quest. And all the next attempt were the same, I always fail in the last area by fainting two times. I'm gonna beat it soon, he's really not that hard, but I was wondering if others had the same "problem" with his last area πŸ™ƒ Also, how the fuck do you dodge his aerial charge??

Btw. playing without my cat

Superman dive away from him when he does his dive bomb.

What weapon do you use? 4 piece uragaan is good if you use a shield for the guard up if I remember correctly. If you're using it purely for defense stats then you should switch to a set with skills that compliment your weapon. Going for pure defense is a noob trap because of diminishing returns.

Yeah I figured that out a bit too late lol I'm using the hammer, but I'm gonna stick to this armour for now since I went through the trouble of creating it...

Good luck on your hunts. Glad people are still playing this game.

Make sure you are upgrading your armour. I know it sounds silly but I made this mistake had to always do SOS when I was doing level 7/8 monsters

[–] Sjotroll 1 points 1 year ago

I beat him, but you are right in assuming I didn't upgrade with armour spheres, I've never done that. I'll do that for future monsters.

I hope you got it by now, but some things you can do:

  • Save traps until the last stage.
  • When the Nergigante leaves for the cave, wait until it's asleep. Then place a big bomb next to it's head and detonate it. Make sure the hit from the bomb is the damage that wakes the Nergigante up.

A friend of mine had the same issue all those years ago, but he beat it, so don't give up! Make sure you're using the right gear to fight him as this is one of those difficulty checks. And my recommendation to you for his dive bomb is wait till the last second and dodge towards him. Also, why aren't you using the palico?

[–] Sjotroll 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I've been preparing for the fight by farming Uragaan, so now I'm warning his full set, and it's really good, the damage I'm receiving is not terrible.
Not using the palico because I feel the monsters focus to much on him, which makes it too easy, and the quite frequent heals too. I'm used to the (almost) useless Cha-cha from MH3.

[–] CH3DD4R_G0BL1N 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Cha-cha…useless…congrats on being my first ban

[–] Sjotroll 1 points 1 year ago

Lol, I'm exaggerating a bit, but he was definitely more of an occasional help compared to the palico which is a constant help.

Well, enjoy your challenge I suppose.

I am, thanks πŸ’ͺ
EDIT: when farming materials I use my palico and multiplayer, I just want to beat each monster for the first time alone
