Just my opinion, but if it's flowing well, leave it be. We all need a bit of iron. I had a similar experience, part copper, part galvanized, and the water at the kitchen tap would take a day to fill a liter bottle. Too corroded and choked with rust.

That's my worry... do i want to put everything back now, fully furnish only for it to become a problem in a few years time?
I think ill cut a section of kitchen flooring to try and find the end of the "straight section" that i can poke through the front room. That might save me a lot of work... ill reconsider my options from there
