A 25-year scientific bet between neuroscientist Christoph Koch and philosopher David Chalmers on understanding consciousness.
The bet was that by 2023 the mechanism by which the neurons in the brain produce consciousness would be discovered.
On June 23, 2023, the scientists met in New York to settle a bet.
Christoph Koch declared himself the winner of the bet, since the mechanism of consciousness has not yet been discovered.
