My clock says 404... I guess it can't find the time ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Just wait a minute, your clock will then look for the time wrong.

My tablet might be on its way out because it randomly flashbangs me all the time. It's not the brightness setting, the screen just flashes at max brightness for a fraction of a second before it goes back to the correct brightness when I turn it on. Recently, the screen started "flashing" when the tablet is in use, too (the brightness flickers between 10% and 100%), but only when the brightness is set to low. It's really weird.

So your tablet is the weakling...

In all seriousness, may your issue be of the "Resolves itself for no apparent reason one day" kind and not the "A chip is slowly dying and bringing the rest of the device with it" kind.

That'd be lovely. It feels like it's either some of the software going haywire or a hardware issue. I bought it in 2016, so it's probably the latter, but it hasn't had any software updates in a few years, either. I wanna try to install LineageOS once I don't need the files on it any more (a bunch of university stuff that I'll back up but don't want to bother copying back to the tablet).

Switch over as soon as possible, your tablet could be compromised. I would say that if it has not received security updates in years then it almost certainly is. Article.

I know moving files can be annoying, but having a device with a common operating system that is years behind in security updates is cataclysmically insecure. And it would probably fix the flash-banging, either by getting rid of the malware or some other fix.

I agree with everything you said, but I don't use this tablet for anything other than Youtube, Twitch, e6, and Lemmy, and I'm not logged into any accounts on it. I said I still needed those files, but realistically, I don't think I'll need them. I haven't looked at them in months. It's just a media consumption device at this point, which is why I couldn't be bothered to switch yet, but I guess I'll do it this week, then, just to be safe :3

Better safe then sorry.
