I'm waiting for the price to drop below £40. The game is 5 years old!
Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes
This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.
Basic Lemmy-quette applies. Additionally, since flairs don't exist yet, please do make sure to include a marker to denote what game your post is about in square brackets for clarity's sake. An example could be:
[BB] This enemy is so difficult!
or
[DS1] Anyone struggling with the gargoyles?

Yea good luck. Not sure why its price is always so high. Maybe Activision's fault?
PC or console?
PC/steam deck
Kind of at the mercy of a good deal, then. I got my copy like four-ish years ago on sale for PS4 for like 40€ which was an awesome deal; could be lower nowadays, though. Buying used won't be an option for you either, sadly
I loved the game, but for the life of me could not beat Genishiro's lightning phase... I should try it again.
Is that the boss on the roof top? If so that's where I stopped. The counter system I still wasn't good with and you can't level grind to make it easier like most of the souls games.
As much as it's a meme, Genichiro is the part where most people "get" the game and its mechanics. It's a very tough fight when you're just starting out, but once you get a hang of things and a good feel for the combat, it gets really good later on
Based on achievements the number of players who actually reach an ending isn't so bad
I think once people get hooked on the game, they go all the way. I was surprised to see how many people have beaten the final boss considering it's once of the toughest fights in FS's entire catalogue
Installed it on my Steam Deck, felt rough playing it on the small screen, can't justify taking over the living room TV for enough time to actually play the game.
That said, still technically quit before it clicked.
I'm waiting for it to be on sale, just like every other game. I keep my hours played:$$$$ ratio below 5 cents.
You're looking for a PC sale then I assume?
My newest console is a wii, so... yes?
